The Metropolitan

Indulge in the Metropolitan way of life: fresh, stylish, energetic.

The Metropolitan in London is among the capital's most enduring design phenomena, a hotel that combines cool looks and cosseting service with a contemporary mindset, putting it squarely on the map of travellers seeking to be at the centre of the action.

From floor-to-ceiling windows, look out over a glittering skyline, comfortable in the knowledge you are standing right where it matters - on Park Lane, with the city's best bar and restaurant in the very same building.

It is your private haven at the heart of the metropolis, a place to retreat to when the need for quiet comes upon you.

Accommodation

A contemporary hotel with an enduring design aesthetic

The hotel's sleek yet serene urban image combines soft whites, pear-wood panelling, suede upholstery and pure Egyptian cottons. Colours are subtle, featuring cool peppermints and cosseting mauves. Carefully selected pieces of antique Asian furniture introduce soft, Eastern accents.

This is the work of Keith Hobbs, regarded as a true innovator in hotel design for the modern generation.

Room Types

Accommodation, spread out over eight floors, includes park-facing rooms (where our suites are located, as well as doubles) and city-facing rooms that look towards Mayfair's rooftops.

Park Suite: Enjoy views of Hyde Park from both the bedroom and separate sitting room, with a sofa, desk and large television. Note that a second king-bedded room can be interconnected.

City Studio: These large, open-plan rooms have views over Mayfair, with banquettes, a dining table, dressing table and desk. Note that a second queen-bedded room can be interconnected.

Park Studio: Most of our studio rooms have views over Hyde Park. They are generously sized, with a king-size bed, banquette seating, desk and relaxation area.

King Park: These are a little smaller than the studio rooms, and have direct views of Hyde Park.

King City: These rooms are styled similarly to our King Park rooms, except they have views of Mayfair. Note that a number of our King City rooms can be interconnected.

Queen Room: These are our smallest rooms, ideal for single travellers, most with views of Mayfair. Bathrooms either include a bathtub and shower, or a large walk-in shower.

Location

Park Lane: A landmark address for fashionable Londoners

Wherever you come from, the Metropolitan's location is easily reached - an unmissable hotel in an unmissable capital. It is located on one of the most significant thoroughfares in London - Park Lane, where it melts into the landmark Hyde Park Corner.

Mayfair lies east of the hotel, Hyde Park to its west. Both are in view, while Knightsbridge and Piccadilly are five-minute walks.

Heathrow airport is a 45-minute car journey, or 15 minutes by train. Gatwick, accessed by the Gatwick Express, operates from nearby Victoria station.
